This is good news for your cat - We are an ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic

At Paws in the City, we are proud to be recognised as a Silver Cat Friendly Clinic by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), part of International Cat Care. A programme that sets higher standards in feline veterinary care.

Cats have very specific needs: many find travel stressful and can become upset by unfamiliar sounds, smells and environments. Unlike dogs, most cats prefer calm and quiet, and can react badly to busy waiting rooms and handling that doesn’t suit their temperament. That’s why being accredited as a Cat Friendly Clinic matters — it means we’ve worked to make every part of your cat’s visit as gentle and stress-free as possible.

What the accreditation means for you and your cat:

  • We appreciate the unique needs of cats and adapt visits accordingly.
  • Our team know how to approach and care for cats with patience and understanding.
  • We have the training and equipment to support feline health effectively.

Every member of our practice from reception to nurses and vets plays a role in maintaining cat-friendly standards. We have a team who are passionate about feline care and happy to answer your questions.

What this means for your visit

Choosing a Cat Friendly Clinic gives you extra peace of mind:

  • You’re coming to a practice that has met recognised standards for cat care.
  • Our team are familiar with cat-specific handling and consultation techniques.
  • We’re happy to explain our approach and even show you around if you’d like.

There are three levels of Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation — Bronze, Silver and Gold. We currently hold Silver status and are continually improving our services.
